Just saw that the galactic hunter has a video up about renting a telescope for imaging. Well, not the scope directly but renting time on a remote telescope that images for you!
This is fascinating and I had no idea it was within reach of my kind of budget. I thought it was reserved for big research institutions
This is really fantastic because not only can you rent time on a telescope with darker skies than you can readily access but also one in a different Geography that you might never be able to image otherwise, such as the Southern Hemisphere (or Northern if you live in the South). It’s even super useful for targets you can see from your imaging location that don’t get high enough in the sky.
Go over to their youtube video to see how easy it is to image the Bug Nebula remotely and also get a $20 credit to signup for Telescope Live !
